My Pet Hooligan: Explosion FX
Explosion FX created in Houdini and implemented into UE4 for Motion Capture stage and UE5 for Video Game. Explosions featured in trailer below are also used for Motion Capture and Video Game.
I created both Stylized and Stylized Realism Explosions for the My Pet Hooligan project using Houdini as the first step for creating large smoke.
Next I Implemented Houdini Mosaic Compositing to create a Sprite sheet which could be used in UE Niagara.
Then I added small geometry for debris and subsequent trails. Explosion Effect could be changed by Color by the use of Hue Shifts as an exposed parameter on a Material Instance.
